2013 in a Nutshell.

So I got this from Rage Against the Minivan (here), who got it from someone, who potentially also got it from someone else. But I liked it and was struggling to write something about 2013. I have a lot of mixed feelings about it as with most of my lows, I have been able to see many positive things come from them. I have big dreams and big goals for the year ahead, but also know that it will be an emotion and difficult year. Regardless I am excited for what the year might hold.

1. What did you do in 2013 that you’d never done before?
This year I went on a girls road trip solo. It was a week in New York City and it was fantastic.

2.Did you keep your New Years Resolution and will you make one this year?
No and no. I will have goals for the upcoming year, but if they do not happen, I will not lose sleep over it.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Baby Baxter's mom did, so that totally counts right? Also a few friends and a cousin, I feel like we are at that age of frequent new babies.

4. What countries did you visit?
Only the United States, but that is like all the time, so I don't know if it counts.

5. What dates from 2013 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Specific dates, no. However events will for sure. For example getting Baby Baxter, Taylor Swift concert, and New York road trip.

6. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Not going to lie, this is a hard one. I have felt like living in a rut as of late.

7. What was your biggest failure?
Not giving the most I could in every situation.

8. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I had the flu like three times last year. The whole working with the public was like the best.

9. What was the best thing you bought?
Baxter obviously.

10. Where did most of your money go?
New (to us) Car.

11. What did you get really excited about?
New York. I planned that road trip hard core. I actually might like planning trips just as much as taking them.

12. What song will always remind you of 2013?
What's the fox say?

13. Compared to this time last year, are you:
-happier or sadder? Happier, but I get sad more often.
-thinner or heavier? Sadly heavier, but trust me I am working on it.
-richer or poorer? Poorer, again we just got another car.

14. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Read. And travel. And time with friends. Can there please be more hours in the day this year?

15. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Procrastination. I work well with deadlines, but that doesn't mean I don't leave everything till the last possible minute and then panic.

16. How did you spend Christmas?
With family. Four family Christmas's total. It was wonderful.

17. What was your favourite TV program?
I love, love, love TV. It is my obsession and my happy place. This year I have loved watching a number of classics over and over like Gossip Girl and Gilmore Girls. I have also enjoyed a few new shows such as Revenge and The Carrie Diaries.

18. What were your favourite books of the year?
I have read a  number and have even more to get through still. My favourite of the year were either the Harry Potter audio books or a second read through the Hunger Games.

19. What was your favourite music from this year?
John Mayer's Paradise Valley. New obsession after a long time of resisting John Mayer due to the whole Taylor Swift thing and the fact that BFFs stick together.

20. What was your favourite film of the year?
Loved and waited all year for the Catching Fire. Huge fan.

21. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I was 25. I did dinner and cake with a small group of friends.

22. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2013?
My goal was comfort but put together. Most of the time the mission was to find shirts to cover my bum so I could wear leggings all the time. Also attempted to transition to be a bit more sophisticated in every day attire.

23. What kept you sane?
TV. Seriously love it.

24. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2013.
Good friendships are one of the best things in life.

NYC with the girls.
Taylor Swift.
