Date Night. {Terri Clark}

Last Wednesday the husband and I went on a wonderful date night. For Valentines day he had gotten me tickets to the Terri Clark concert in town playing at the Capital Theater. It was wonderful.

Date Night. (I wish I remembered my real camera)
The Capital Theater in town is one of those places that makes everything wonderful. It is a restored historic theater in downtown. The place is beautiful to look at and is so small that there is not a bad seat in the house. I have seen a few things there such as Romeo and Juliet ballet and a high school production of The Phantom of the Opera.

So Terri Clark was wonderful. Opening for her was Kira Isabella, who I have heard of and knew a few of her songs, but never actually would have been able to put a face to a name before. They were both great. Terri Clark is actually hilarious and the husband also enjoyed himself, which is saying something. I LOVE country music, he doesn't really. So it was great that we were both able to enjoy ourselves and have a good time.

The funny part of the night was the average age at the concert. I am used to concerts like Taylor Swift, where I am one of the older people in the crowd or Brad Paisley where it is a wide range of ages. This concert however had an average age of 60+. The husband and I actually played a game trying to figure out what the average age was. We even think the old lady in front of me fell asleep. Not going to lie as the end was near I was yawning as well. I like to be in bed around 10 on a week night, so this was a little past curfew. With the average age so high you would tell that Terri Clark was struggling to get people to sing along and I had to resist the urge to get up and dance. I really didn't want to be the only person dancing because it was awkward enough that I was the only one clapping along even when she asked us to clap along.

Aside from feeling super young, it was fun. I love that we did it and we are now continuously looking for more low budget outings to do together. But maybe not on boot camp night. A small part of me was actually sad having to miss it.

Terri Clark. The lighting was wonderful, unless you were in the middle of the balcony. Again, who forgets their camera?
