Tourist Shoes.

My feet are babies. I bring multiple pairs of shoes on a day long shopping trip because I know that my feet will not be able to make it.
I get blisters easily, however will not be caught dead wearing running shoes for something non athletic (although some shopping trips come close). Running shoes and jeans are a big no no in my books, but I have a funny feeling that that might have to change soon.
So with my New York City Road trip just around the corner, I went on a mission to find shoes that would last with lots of walking and being on my feet all day long, but would also look somewhat cute.

I read review after review and blog after blog. I went shopping and tried on more shoes then I would like to admit. In the end these are the winners in my books.

Birkenstocks.- I have long loved birkenstocks. I got my first pair back in the ninth grade and my second at the start of university. They sadly are both starting to fall apart and I know it is time I splurge on a new pair again. Previously I always wore the Arizona. Now however as my wardrobe consists of of more dresses, tights and skinny jeans then anything else I needed something a bit more feminen. I went with the Mayari as it has slimmer bands and is a bit more delicate looking. Another option would be the Gizeh as they come in a number of colours. These will most likely be my go to shoe for the road trip as they will go with practically everything and after a few weeks of breaking them in should feel wonderful.

Crocs Ballet Flats- There are a number of crocs ballet flats availible and they really are super comfortable. The down side, they only come in full sizes. They suggest you go down a size, but I found that to be uncomfortable. Then a size up and they were slipping. If these fit your feet they are a wonderful option and you cannot tell that they are crocs, they really just look like a ballet flat.
Keds.- I remember these from preschool and I am kind of excited that they are coming back in style. I tried a few pairs on before I knew people said they are super confortable, but I could not bring myself to spend the money. I then got a knock off pair and am in love with them. I am pretty sure I will be picking a pair of these up in the next few weeks. The bonus, they make me feel just a little bit more Taylor Swift-esq (which in my books is always a plus).
TOMS- Yet again I have a knock of pair from Aldo that I got for under $10 last spring. They are not super comfortable so I am still in the debate if the name brand version would be that much better, but I have friends and online sources who swear by them.

Moccasins- I love these minnetonka ones (Kilty Suede Moc Hardsole), very basic and go with everything. I picked up a pair at Walmart last summer and loved them, got a second pair because I was wearing out the first and they fell apart in a week. I again am shocked at how much cheaper these particular ones are in the USA compared to Canada, so I just might pick up a pair of these as well.

So overall, I am bringing with me my new Birkenstocks that I have been breaking in all week, my fake Keds and Walmart brand moccasins. I will also bring my everyday sandals which I discovered on our Taylor Swift weekend I cannot walk more than an hour or two in, but will be nice to wear in the car and such, and a pair of flats or maybe wedges for our night out seeing Wicked. I will most likely pick up another pair or two of shoes I see there as well as. See, I bring a lot of shoes when I go places.

Any other shoes I should be trying on for next time I am in need of something to wear while walking? Criteria: cute, comfortable and wearable with skinny jeans and dresses, also ideally somewhat affordable.
