New York City Bound. {Road trip}

This July I am going on a road trip with some wonderful ladies. We are going to take a week, pack ourselves and out things in a car and head to New York City. On the way home we will then spend some time in Pennsylvania. I cannot express just how thrilled I am for this adventure. The more I research about things to do and what to see both along the way and in our destinations I cannot help but get over the moon excited.

I know, I know  I know  I have mentioned it before, I have started to plan different trips and they have all fallen through. We never did make it to Europe (on the back burner for about a year so my husband can figure out work and get time off), and Montreal (which just got cut and instead we moved back to Chatham and the husband started freelancing in Vaughan), also never happened. But New York is different. This trip is three girl friends and myself and they are girls who say they are going to do something and do it. So unless there is some sort of extenuating circumstance, like a death in the family or a get a job in which they will not let me have time off, this trip will happen.

So mid July we are packing our bags and road tripping for a week to New York City. We will make stops on the way there and probably spend a night in Pittsburgh on the way home, and I could not be more excited. I am excited because 'Road Trip' is on my To-Do list for the spring (another with the husband may happen, but if not I am still taken care of) and because I have never really been anywhere. I have never really done a road trip, unless you count heading to Manitoulin Island with my best friend on summer weekend in university and getting lost and it taking forever (I don't count it), so I am excited.

The planning has started and like really started. One of my friends, friends from Australia, who is in BC is coming and is booking her tickets any time now. We have been searching for hotels and thinking of stops along the way. I have been making lists which is what I love to do. Lists of what to see, where to stay, how to get from point A to B and how to save as much money as possible. I am loving my lists and all the research. It is keeping me busy and I am loving it.

So this July will consist of a girls road trip week. The husband will stay home and have as much 'boy time' as possible. I think that consists of playing video games like 24/7 and eating junk, there also may be little showering, but I cannot confirm those ideas.

I will post more on what we plan to do, money saving tips while traveling and of course how the entire thing actually turned out. So for those who have been to New York City before, what are the must do's and what is totally not worth the time/money? I would love suggestions.
